This Print was initially donated for May Day 2019 in Oakland California and was then reworked to become the first print edition to be produced through the Cultivarte Studios artist print program in August of 2019. This artist print program was created as a collaborative program to skill share, produce, art from our communities in SELA, and create opportunities for all individuals who would otherwise not have access to a creative studio. In conversation with Cultivarte, we found it fitting to break ground with a print discussing the importance of just compensation for labor of all kinds, capacity building in our communities, building equity and becoming sustainable, for future generations to enjoy.
