It is hypothesized that UV radiation from the sun was the catalyst in creating complex biomolecules which changed and recombined over time to eventually give rise to life on earth. Although we have not replicated spontaneous creation of life in the laboratory, we understand the necessity of the sun in sustaining life on earth. It  is depicted in this print through the life cycle:
